Thinking of getting the Nikon AF 105mm f2.8 D Micro or

I just want lens for macro.

Can only say that all Nikon macro lenses have a reputation for sharpness and you don't need or want VR or fast AF for macro use near 1:1 magnification (you should use MF).

agreed...Most manually focus anyway when they are shooting macro shots so no need to pay the extra money for the AF, also VR is for hand held stuff, most macro is done on a tripod, so no need for the VR either...plus the MF is cheaper anyways. I have the 105mm micro lens and love it...I am planning on getting the 200mm when I get some more money, Laughing.gif...
