    Riding Competition
This is a festival of riding competition. The riders ride along a course at full speed and attempt to pick up silk scarves or "katas" that are placed along the course. The site is in a small village almost in the shadow of Mount Everest.

Marina- this was captured on film with continuous focus shooting mode with a 100-400mm canon lense. This horse and rider were coming very fast and I was able to fire off five frames in less than one second before diving head first to the side. I had dirt thrown all over my face and camera before I leaped to safety. It was an exciting afternoon to put it mildly.

Before reading your comment to Marina, I was guessing this must have been tough on your camera!!! Really cool shot, love the colors and expression on the horse! thumb.gif

I like it. at first it seems a little fuzzy, but I think it might have been all that sand and movment. Great shot. do they use shorter horses. cause I sould be terrified to try that on my horses... who are around 15hh
