Rented a D300 for the week, had an adventure race to cover. It was nice having two cameras. Didn’t have to mess with swapping lens out in the field, got it for a couple more days. Thought I would play around with it some. MM

Good Shot there MM, I think your out a bit with the focus too,
but I say that only because the head of the Dragonfly does not look as focused as the Leaves, and then again sometimes compression for posting on the net, makes things not look quite right.

So what did you think of the D300? you like it??

    Thanks for sharing thumb.gif ... Skippy :D

    Thanks for the comments
For this shot I was playing with the LIVE VIEW mode. It is cool but will take some time to master. I think I will try live view with my cable release; the shutter has a hair trigger in live view mode I kept on snapping off shots I didn’t want.

I would defiantly buy a D300 if I had the cash. So I guess its time to start eating at home until I do have the cash for it.

One thing I noticed this weekend was its alot faster finding/tracking focus even in the dark. MM :D

Heres another LIVE VIEW mode shot
LIVE View mode lets you use the LCD screen like a point and shoot. I still like the view finder better but can see where it might come in handy. MM

    Nikon 50mm 1.4
With a full set of tubes. This made hard to focus using the LIVE VIEW mode.
    Thanks for the comments. MM

    No sure...
I am no expert but I think the lens governs the working distance.

Live View mode lets you frame the picture with the LCD screen insted of the view finder. Like a point and shoot does. I am still not completly sold on it, but supose I could find a use for it. MM
