My wife and I were enoying watching the birds and squirrels around our deck the other day and we noted that all of the squirrels were frozen on the trees and on the deck - it was almost 60 deg. F so we knew it wasn't the weather. As i was looking around the trees for birds, I saw a lump sticking out of one side near a branch. We noticed this fella so I grabbed my gear and was able to pop off this pic before he flew away. I love big birds and especially birds of prey.

    Jeff and Stephen,
Thanks for the id - we couldn't figure out red shouldered or red tailed because we could not see enough for our own id. He lives in a wooded area about 1/4 mi. away.
