Had a blast last weekend at the Houston SX. One of our advertisers flew the whole family down in a private jet. It's definitely the only way to travel...LOL

Driving to the Atlanta Supercross this weekend. That will be fun too.

Anyway, here are some pics I shot at Houston. Hope you like 'em.

Great shots! I was confirmed for a press pass for my local paper, for the Minneapolis SX. I cannot wait to go!

    One question though,

Do they provide the media vests or is this something I need to purchase?

Matt, that depends on what kind of credential you requested. If you requested a "Press" credential, you will just be granted access to the press box. If you requested a "Photo" credential then you will most likely get field access and a photo vest. You don't have to pay for the vest, but you do have to give it back at the end of the night.

If you did request the wrong pass, just e-mail Denny back to straighten it up. He'll be cool about it, especially for Minneappolis—they don't get as many credential requests for that race as they do for others.

I believe I will be granted a photo pass as my editor and I both requested floor access for some photographs. Thanks for the heads up. It's nice being able to ask questions of a veteran.

Awesome, you're hooked up then. You're gonna dig shooting supercross from the floor. When you go to pick up you're credential they will give you a track map that shows where you're allowed to go. Make sure you obey that map, as they will kick you out if you shoot from the banned areas.

A word of caution...shooting supercross from the floor will spoil you. You'll never be able to watch from the stands again. Laughing.gif

Have a good time and always keep your eye on the action around you. Even though they are pro's, they can get out of shape in a hurry. Always leave yourself an escape route.

They will not send your pass to you. They have a trailer they pull around to every race. They usually park it right in front of the main gate of the stadium and put a little sign on it "Press Will Call." You can't miss it.

I think I saw this race the other night on speed. I don't really have any idea whether or nat it was the same race...but it was definately the same girl.

It might have been. The whole Supercross series is running on Speed, usually the Sunday after the race, then repeated during the week. Some of the rounds are also airing on CBS.
