I recently used my Delkin 4GB eFilm Pro CF Card and I was able to download the images from it onto my Mac's desktop. However, when I pop the card back into my Nikon D200 (or my D70) the camera tells me that no card has yet been inserted and will not permit me to capture any additional images.

For some reason the card reader can detect the CF card's presence but neither of the cameras are able to do so. What's up with that?

As long as all the photos did download ok, then I would try formatting the card in the camera. Then shoot a few more shots, download, and try again with the card in the camera.

I hate to possibly insult you but have you tried putting another card in the camera? If it sees that then that tells you the camera can read cards via it's interface. Take a few shots with the other card and read them into your computer. If the camera balks at the second card after you read it then whatever you are doing on the cmputer is messing the card up.

Try formatting the card on the computer as Ken suggested and see if the camera can read that.

I would do that, except that when the card is in the camera the camera cannot detect its presence. In other words, the settings screen on my D200 says "E" meaning empty or no card inserted. So when I try to format, the "format" setting in the menu is grayed out. Other cards work fine in the camera.

    Any other thoughts?

    Other thoughts on this matter
Call Delkin and ask them to run diagnostics thru your card reader.....hopefully they can do this......the time I needed this done was with a Lexar Pro I screwed up by removing while the camera was turned on........I presume any good memory card company can do this..............

Did it come with any recovery software....sometimes that has a dianostics utility on it also.

    You can

    1) Use your computer to format the card and than put back to your camera to see if the camera regonizes it

    2) If you have a second camera that takes CF card, try with the second camera and see if it can recognize and format the card.

    Good Luck
