Some time on my hands today due to the flu - so I thought I would try and take a close up of my own eye (it's a bit red though :cry)

Just had the camera set up on the table and exp settings f8 @ 1/160
I think it turned out quite well

C & C always welcome

The details in the radial and circular muscles of the iris are amazing.

This looks to me like a perfect subject on which to play around with focus stacking.

I'm amazed you were able to focus that shot, considering you are unwell.
Blood shot eye's and runny nose too I bet.

The details is incredible, you can see multiple layers of your eye too eek7.gif

Really great shot I really like the detail, the only thing maybe you could work on is the lighting as it is a bit harsh and bright in this instance and instead of looking straight into the eye I end up looking at the skin underneath because of the brightness.

    Just my thoughts.

Great shot, keep up the good work! :ivarthumb.gif

Th nice thing about this image, is that there is no corneal light reflex obscuring the iris detail. The reflex is only near the upper lid. Well done.

    Thanks for the comments.
I was a bit of trial and error
I put the camera on the table and judged roughly the distance my eye needed to be from the lens (by focusing on a tablemat) had a remote release cable just moved my head backwards and forwards taking a few photos and managed to get this one in focus.

Feeling a lot better now :ivar so I may get a better shot of one next time
