Well now. You're in a bit of a pickle here. What you need is faster glass or
strobes. Not likely they will allow you to shoot with flash either.

Post a couple of shots and let's see how you're doing. Include some EXIF
    data as well.

Yeah, I don't think your glass is fast enough. Bummer you can't spring for something quicker.

Your only hope is to max out the ISO, shoot Aperature Priority (wide open, natch) and knock down the Exposure Compensation by 2/3, shoot in RAW, don't expect to get crisp action shots, and buy a copy of NeatImage or Noise Ninja. You'll need them when you try to bring up the exposure on your RAW image, which will certainly show lots of noise.

I would also strongly suggest a custom White Balance.

Good luck. That slower glass really is a big deal, IMHO.

    Mutineer,

I know you wrote that new lenses are not an option, but you really should pick up the 50mm F1.8. For the $100 you spend, you'll get much better image quality. Yeah, it won't have much reach, but you don't have much more reach now.

Otherwise, shooting under these conditions (without being able to use a flash) will be extremely challenging :uhoh You will have to settle for speeds so slow, you will have motion blur in just about every shot :-(

    Just a thought,
