Cow Town

Cow Town is what the locals call Fort Worth, Texas, the smaller major city in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. This was a tricky, contrasty scene to get but I liked the subject so much, I hard to try(out of camera JPEG included for reference). In any event, it does at least show how much latitude a raw file from a modern DSLR gives.

Here is the final, cooked from raw with corrections to exposure, colour, contrast, white balance and a tone curve (Silkypix terminology - not sure if it translates to Photoshop):

And here is the out of the camera JPEG. I'd exposed off a white cloud in the sky; not that there was much colour in the sky to speak of looking in that direction. I did think of just letting the sky go but decided a blown sky would be too distracting....
