Which SD card should I get?

Did a search and didn't come up with anything, so here goes...

I am going to buy a new SD card for my D40x, mainly for my upcoming trip to South Africa. I currently have a 2 gig card and have been happy with it. I sometimes shoot RAW (just learning) so I need some room on the card I suppose. My main question isn't 'how big'...but what kind?

I looked at the various options, but am slightly confused between the importance of 'Class 2' or 'Class 6' speeds or if I should get a SDHC card?

Thanks for any help! :)

    perhaps a bit on terms:

the HC on SDHC stands for 'high-capacity.' Frequently to acheive larger storage spaces they have to raise/lower voltages and other odds and ends to make it work. Older SD devices, therefore, can't use SDHC cards. The D40x, however, can (if my memory serves me correctly). Basically, every card above 2GB will bear the SDHC designation, and all should work.

Some of my favorite brands are Sandisk/Kingston/Lexar/Crucial/Transcend/PNY. Just point your browser to www.slickdeals.net and within 2-3 weeks you'll find some crazy deal where they're clearing them out for <$5 for 2 or 4GB. The only one still active (without it being microSD+adapter) is http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=753600

You may also want to look at a SD card holder from B&H and get 3-5 cards instead of 1 huge card. To each their own (some don't like the 'all eggs in one basket' idea.)

    Happy shooting!

    Hope you see this tonight.
Staples.com has a 4GB Sandisk Ultra II for $25... ends today.
The HC stands for High Capacity. Some readers/cameras/mp3 players balk at these cards OVER 4GB. Your camera will be fine with the 4GB.

I've seen these around, but man that HyperDrive is tempting... May have to save some money for the trip to England to invest :D
