Caracara Picnic
Hi Y'all,
Visited the Viera Wetlands on Thursday and came across
the mother caracara
and of to her side was the juvie caracara who waited as
mom dined on a local turtle
after a bit mom gave junior permission to join her
and they both had a picnic in the grass
after a bit mom picked up the turtle
and went home
junior finding himself motherless and turtleless

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Hey Mike,
The Crested Caracara (aka The Mexican Eagle - its their national bird) is a member of the falcon family. Like the vulture its mainly a carrion eater but often as in this series will also go after live prey.
