I bought a new bird book the" Smithsonian" one. great book ..over 900 pages...:D however if i don't have an idea of what the bird might be....

    looks like you nailed iteek7.gif even with the book IDS are a pain Glen and i have a shot of a woodpecker and do not agree with the id ,the bird must be a cross or we shot it on halloween ne_nau.gifheadscratch.gifne_nau.gif very good clean shot and perfect for an id shots clap.gifthumb.gif

    Love the second one. The snowbank being angled somewhat upward and the background make it look like it is on mountain somewhere. So how many "flips" did it take to get the right ID? rolleyes1.gif
