You have been a presence in this competition from day one and definitely have earned this day in the sun not only with your competition entries but with your vast and remarkable body of public work. I have long been an admirer of your photo-a-day work and it is very satisfying that someone with such a consistant display of such stellar work should be declared "Last Photographer Standing."
For those of you who haven't done so, I highly recommend a tour of Vandana's photo-a-day galleries. Each day is a delight showing a remarkable sense of composition, place and light.
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.
