Harrison Hawk

Went to go donate a large cage to a Raptor Rescue Center that is being built a few minutes from where I live. Was able to meet one of the owners, walk the grounds where all of the facilities will be, and learned a lot about Raptors and the laws regarding a rescue center.

While there my son and I met a Screech Owl (very adorable little fellow) and this Harrison Hawk. Her name is Daisy and can never be returned to the wild- she will become an eduction bird once she settles down a little more.

All of these were taken by my little 8 year old prodigy.

Wow! An 8 year did this? I don't think I could any better. Gorgeous portraits! BTW, it is a Harris's Hawk not Harrison. We have them native here in South Texas.

Me too Harry me too. Can't wait for them to get the aviaries up. They have about 8 birds right now and AZ Game an Fish has several they want them to take. They have also been approved to get a Bald Eagle from a Rescue Center in Alaska.

He is a talented little bugger. I do the crop and some minor editing but he is pretty good with the gear.

I will asked the correct name and spelling before posting next time.

No- he was inside and a little under the weather. She said he hadn't been eating much and they are a little worried about him.

He looked a little like this guy but really dark gray and black.

My son was shooting and I didn't bring the flash. We will visit the center again in a few weeks and get some more shots in.
