Lahore is the most historic and most known and most visited city of Pakistan. It is about 5 hours drive for Islamabad the capital of Pakistan. It is near to the Indian border and is provincial capital of Punjab. People are extremely lively and are known for their hospitality. City is also known for it's food. It is Hollywood of Pakistan and known as LollyWood. Full of culture and life all around is something to see.
I was there only for 6 hours and was only able to see and shoot few things. Sky was totaly washed out and city was covered with haze.
Here is 1st part shot around "Food street" and "Data Derbar" it is grave of a saint and place is quite famous among "Brailve Muslims"

I love the mixture of happiness and sadness, of dust and of color in this series. This is by all means a truly mixed city (as all cities are) with all kinds of people, emotions, and faces.
Thank you!

If I may ask a (somewhat) related question on your thread here ... this photo of President Musharraf on the Magnum blog, taken by one of my favorite photojournalists, has a portrait in the President's office on the wall.
Do you know who is in the portrait? Does this have historical significance in the scheme of things?
thanks again Awais!

I have been talking with my wife about this and she told me that it may be rather dangerous because there are many different people around.
And very dangerous for Americans. Not for Portuguese as they are not important.
We have been looking for travels in group to this part of the World and some are very interesting. Cultural travels. VERY interesting indeed.
It's different to travel in group or just by yourself ...
Spring festival is in Spring March April a lot of Americans go to Lahore. Infect they travel more in Pakistan then we do

I am glad you are using a dSLR ... has the new camera improved you photos?

I wonder, how do you approach people to take their portrait? Do you ask permission?
