I picked up a Canon 5D body, 24-105mm f/4L IS USM glass and a handful of flashes. Here's what I came up with. ISO50 rules... :)

This one looks like it would be my UFC poster if I ever did such things.

I really like the intensity of all the photographs. A few random nitpicks, nothing major. Overall a really interesting series!

    oo is that you?? :D

i'm picking up a real 'american history X' vibe here (although hopefully you just look the part and not act it rolleyes1.gif) which i think is really neat!

    like 1, 3 and 5 the best

Haha, yes, that is me. I'm finally comfortable in front of my own lenses(and boy is a 77mm wide lens intimidating, I feel bad for the crowds at my weddings).

I definitely don't act the part. I try to be a good guy at all times. :)

Thank you for the kind words.

These are all fantastic. Love the intensity as others have said. The detail is incredible. My fave is the 3rd one, I am a sucker for split lighting and it illuminates the wet skin so well.

Congrats on your 5D...I'm waiting with bated breath to hear how much you like it over the 30D....deal.gif

Thank you all for your kind words.

Yes, I will be writing an in-depth review of the 5D(like there aren't a million others out there). I'll publish it on my blog when I have the time to actually sit down, write, and photograph it's many parts.

I had a lot of fun doing this set, though I did about 45 pull ups getting it lit just right. So I'm pretty sore today, but hey... it's for the love of the art, right? Same reason we all froze our asses off to get pics of the eclipse last week. haha!

I really like 1 and 3. It does remind me of a UFC gallery showing they have going on in Brooklyn right now.

That's awesome, Randy, what pushed you over the edge? Tis not a relatively inexpensive purchase. (but still worth every stinkin cent)

Laughing.gif I ordered the L series lens first which obviously needs the 5D or higher body to get the benefit. I bought the Rebel XTi a few months ago and the pictures are awesome but I want the only barrier to great pictures to be me and not my equipment ;) I am really excited to get it.. clap.gif
