Tamron Lens 28-300 VR ???

Anyone using thenewer Tamron 28-300 with Image Stabilization?

I tried this lens at the CA Pro Photo show yesterday and it seemed like a nice alternative for travel to taking my 24-70 and 70-200 with me when I travel. It was so light.

Granted the two pieces of L Glass are 2.8 and the Tammy is 3.5 but it's also a Macro and I could take a nifty 50. I am flying through Heathrow and have to watch my weight.

I was blown away that it was sharp handheld at 28- 8.0 - 1/15 iso 1600 on the Digital Rebel they were demoing it at.

I used it with a Nikon mount on my D80 and was pretty impressed with it. After I got home from Saturday's "trial shoot" I processed the images and was sold. Called The Camera Store www.justtamron.com , up in Muskeegon, MI on Monday morning shortly after they opened and the only 2 they had were sold and awaiting more to come in. I was there close to closing on Saturday and they were not open on Sunday. One should not wait.
