This afternoon I finally received my MP-E 65mm and I have just used it to take a couple of shots of a half inch screw. Using Brian's method and settings.
This shot was taken at F11 at 1:1

I found it very difficult to see anything at F5.6 at 5:1. As Skippy said I am sure it will take a long time to be able to shoot a creature especially if it is moving.

Had a look at your photos and they are brilliant. I can see you can handle the MP-E ok. I very much doubt if I will ever be able to shoot anything like that with the MP-E, but I will persevere in my old age.
    Cheers

P.S I see you have the same cameras as me so I have no excuse

Hey there Bob I see you have your new Lens clap.gif whoohooo!!!
I added your photos for you thumb.gif

It's quite a lens, and the Magnification it is capable of is just amazing.
The nice thing is that you only have to turn the lens to get the magnification, there is really no mucking around involved.

These look great Bob, now you need to find a bug :D
All the best with the Learning Curve, I'm sure you will find some great things to photograph and share with us thumb.gif ... Skippy :D

Thanks Skippy I am really pleased with it and am looking forward to getting in amongst those bugs when they appear. As long as they don't move too fast.
