I have never seen the mask this green. Could it be a reflection from the flash bouncing off the grass? No PP. What do you think? MM

I can not remember seeing it like that before. Thanks for the info.
Is it well-mannered to photograph them during mating season? MM

Good shots thumb.gif Its mating season and the colors on the herons is starting to get very interesting. Cattle egrets in particular go through a very dramatic transformation.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

It's the best time to photograph them, as long as you're not obviously bothering them or they are leaving eggs or very young unattended. They are at their most photogenic during the breeding season. Take a look at Harrys galleries and you'll see what I mean, he's got awesome rookery shots.

It was suggested for me to take a look at your galleries.... I not sure I know the words... You have a huge collection of fantastic images. I sorry I did not make it out to meet you last month. When is the next one? MM
