How do I make this better? I think it looks good enough for let's say a desktop background, but not much more. Please help. I did use a tripod.

Oh, I think I get better results when the moon is way up there in the sky. The last few I took , was when the moon was lower on the horizon and there is nothing I can do to make the craters stand out.
On a steep learning curve...

I like that expression. I'll keep that in mind the next time I'm shooting the moon and have my headphones on.
I lack the experience of getting a decent moon shot, but the topic has been addressed several times here. Off the top, here's a good link. And another one. And one more for good measure.
