How do I make this better? I think it looks good enough for let's say a desktop background, but not much more. Please help. I did use a tripod.

Too slow to my way of thinking...the moon really honks along at a good clip and at 1/100 will blur a photo. I would try again (with appropriate setting changes to accommodate) at 1/200 min but maybe up to 1/500.

Try 400 ISO, f/7.1, 250/s, and either use a cable to trip the shutter or use the delay. I have to use the unsharp mask in PS to well, sharpen. I shoot with Nikon, so your results may vary. mwink.gif

Oh, I think I get better results when the moon is way up there in the sky. The last few I took , was when the moon was lower on the horizon and there is nothing I can do to make the craters stand out.

lol3.gif I like that expression. I'll keep that in mind the next time I'm shooting the moon and have my headphones on.

I lack the experience of getting a decent moon shot, but the topic has been addressed several times here. Off the top, here's a good link. And another one. And one more for good measure. :D

It can be dangerous in the hands of the inexperienced. 'Honk' also refers to a really bad smell.

verb ; "man that really honks in there"
