Hi Guys and Gals,
Well tonight I made my first attempt at flower macro. These are right from the camera, no post processing. Looking for some comments and tips ... as always thanks for your help.

looks like a bit of camera shake on #2 and to a lesser extent #3.
What camera/lens are you using ?

Hi there bhowdy, the first shot is definately the sharpest of the three.
Shooting too either the left or the right of the image for a different angle on the flower can look more interesting than one that is centered.
Did I just say that?? me who centers almost every shot ??
It's taken me a long time to learn not to center everything
You have motion blurr in the second and third shots,
you can overcome this using higher shutter speeds.
You did really well, just about everyone who does MACRO would have to say they get motion blur when doing Macro Photography,
but it's usually corrected in a second or third shot of the same subject.
Most times you know you moved yourself.
Your doing fine bhowdy, nothing you can't improve on ... Skippy

Brian,
I am using a Canon 400D with a Canon 100 2.8 Macro lens. I used a tripod but not a remote trigger.
The second (yellow) flower is a long deep flower so I struggled with a focus point. Either out front or well into the flower......
Skippy,
Thanks for the tip about not centering everything, that makes a lot of sense. I did have some very looooong shutter speeds at times, so that is good advice as well.
Thanks All
