Hello.

Is it possible to have a gallery hidden, but still able to be seen via RSS?

Thanks,

    Richman,

yes, it is possible..but depends on which specific feed.

Unlisted galleries are available using the gallery feed as long as you know the AlbumID and AlbumKey.

Yes, I use this method for wireless picture frames. I don't want the gallery to show for users browsing my site so I make it unlisted, but the wireless picture frame needs access to an RSS feed to get the pictures from it. I take the URL for the feed from a public gallery and then replace the gallery ID and security key in the URL with the one from the unlisted gallery. It had a few hiccups recently with the security changes, but Smugmug fixed things up and now it's working fine.

So I could I do this with a galleries in a hidden gallery category? I'm trying to use my smugmug site to be the portfolio for my business, but I'm also trying to use the rss feeds to host content on a few sites. So I'd need to be able to pull a list of hidden galleries based on keywords.

RSS feeds will work with any gallery (public or unlisted) that isn't password protected (either via a gallery password or a site password). If it's unlisted, you should use the full gallery number + security key in the RSS URL.

I don't know how you achieved a "hidden gallery category" (perhaps with CSS), but since Smugmug doesn't have such a built-in feature it has nothing to do with whether an RSS feed will or won't work.
