The Great River Road...?

I am considering taking a trip along "The Great River Road" from Praire Du Chien, WI up to St. Paul, MN and was wondering if anyone has traveled this before and has any suggestions as to what to see and photograph.
Also anything along/near the mississippi will work to.

there are a lot of good spots along that route but some are off the main road there are some nooks and crannies to look for along the bluff that are not well marked or marked at all but are neat look out points and some are little parks and rest areas that are like I said not really marked well at all. I would also if you have the time cross the river every once in a while the rolling hills are great in WI and there is some neat spots to try and find over there.
