I hadn't been to the Oakland Zoo in such a long time. What a great day to test out my new 40D and 70-200mm 2.8L IS.
I don't know why this didn't hit me earlier...but what makes these pictures for me is the eyes. If I catch the animals eyes...the picture is sooo much more dramatic. I guess it's like that for human subjects too. I'm going to be sure to look for that moment next time I'm out.
I think I want a 2x teleconverter...my poor man 400mm, so when I go to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, I can get some great close ups...

Thanks for your comments everyone....here's one more that I sort of Salvaged last night. The reflection on the lower glass of the enclosure was hideous...so I cropped it out.....not too shabby I guess. I wish I could have shot through the glass/netting better.
