DavidTO and I made a lil' trip to the Central Coast. Weather, clouds, colors didn't always cooperate but we got some pink sky a bit prior to sunrise yesterday.

I cropped out the smokestacks... don't know how others feel about having 3 huge smokestacks in the frame... :dunno

Nice shot, great trip. I haven't even had time to get the images off of the card!

I thought something was missing, :D:D:D (the smokestacks)

Sunrise and morning mist -- a neat combination.

For anyone who's interested, here's a Google Earth marker for the shooting location.

That Google Earth is pretty handy. It even showed Marc's tripod marks.

It's even better when your GPS takes given coordinates and routes you there, instead of routing you to a different location 1/2 mile away. That can be a big difference and leave you fighting your iPhone's coverage to make calls to try and find where you *should* be :cry

I am cuttin a deal with Google to have my voice on the GPS units:D "turn right now, stop and exit auto, place your 24mm tilt/shift on your camera, set aperture to F8, now shoot"mwink.gif

Marc, the new Garmins and the Pocket PC based GPS units can use whereigo, which could be used to make walking tours, photographic tours. You could outline a shooting schedule not unlike what you're describing there!

Make sure you indicate time of day and optimum atmospheric conditions as well. The better GPS units have sunrise and sunset info so you could just use relative time info... e.g. "3 minutes before sunrise" or "24 seconds after sunrise the sun hits the tip of this rock here so ensure it's at the 1/3 frame mark in the upper left corner."

Pretty nice pic, but do you really need a 30point font for your watermark? rolleyes1.gif It's kinda distracting...

I could show you a smaller photo, that would have a smaller watermark rolleyes1.gif
