School Contest (need help with entries)

I have a contest at my school for best color photo and best black & White. so far I have 2 choices for color please help me decide which one to submit.

I voted for chess. If you wil choose the girl you might wanna consider toning down the saturation. While I like bright colors, that seems like and overkill

im in the same boat. she might be attractive, but the saturation on that picture is overboard. very nice chess set. how did you do it?

The girls face is somewhat washed out and it looks like she only has 1/2 a nose.

I guess i never really paid attention. I smoothed out the picture of the girl a little too much.

The saturation was more for giving it a better color. the original grass was kinda blend and boring.

Black backdrop. a main strobe with blue gel. and a second strobe in front with red gel.

I've done that before as well, but i think it's a bit too much now. A tool you might want to explore is the "Selective Color" adjustment layer. Lets you adjust certain color at a time (meaning you can adjust only lets say greens or red in your picture)

if your thinking it would make it square to the image, it wont. Because of the way it's show at an angle, not on a slant...

I submited the chess picture. and the contest ended yesterday. I have to go pick it up. they wouldn't email me or tell me on the photo. I don't see whats the big secret about.

So Wow. Lets just say there was 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 2 honorable mentions. I got non of the above. o well maybe next time. I didn't see the ones that took top marks. I will post a link, if they get one up.

awe! don't let that bum you out! takes a lot of work... ive entered dozens and dozens of little challenges and "contests", and have only 1 honourable mention! i love taking pictures though...
good stuff mate! keep us posted... and keep taking pictures!
