FD to EF Adapters
Macro fever

Hello everyone, I'm kinda new here and have been doing as much research as possible. I currently own a Canon XTI with a Canon 28-135mm usm IS Lens, non L series. Also own a Sigma ex f2 180mm macro and a 70-200 f2 sigma ex. I have never owned a canon L series lens, are they really worth the extra money vs. the sigma ex, both of mine are hsm apo and I just love them. I am pretty much an amature but really enjoy taking nice shots. I kinda like the older prime lens that are around and I'm trying to find out if it's worth it for me to purchase a FD to EF adapter for some of the older FD lens, or should I just go out and spent the money on a Canon L series. Thanks folks

I have some Canon "L" lenses and some Sigma EX series lenses.
While the Sigma EX tend to be very nice optical quality and extremely good values, Canon "L" lenses tend to focus faster and more accurately.
Sometimes the extra cost is justified.

Ziggy, I clicked on this and expected to get to see the other posts in the thread as well BUT found you had set it to show ONLY yours. Why???
Thanks
Jane
Try the other link at that post http://www.bobatkins.com/photography...focus_EOS.html instead.

Good question Jane. If you click on the link I provide above and then look at the top of that response where it says, "Thread: FD lens and a Canon Digital Rebel questions", you can enter the full thread. I think you'll find that the host thread has lots of information specific to Colleen, but nothing helpful for Macro fever.
I simply chose to limit the scope of my response to pertinent material.

Hi Don. Nope, I did it to reduce the scrolling time for "Macro fever" and others looking for information specific to the question of the adapter. Colleen needed more information just for her instance that wouldn't help Macro fever.

Thanks Ziggy. I will try to remember that for future reference when I am curious about a whole thread but the link is to just the one post in it.
I went back and read the whole thread for old times sake. I do have a M42 to EOS adapter and some old lens and posted about them in that thread it turns out. Didn't recognize it for sure as one I posted in until I reread it.
