Not sure if this is ok in here or not (feel free to move it Harry).

I am wondering what kind of insurance you guys have for all your photography gear. Particularly wildlife photographers with lots of big lenses. I will be travelling through Malaysia and then the Maldives for a few weeks on my way to moving back to Australia, and need to get some type of insurance for my gear. Normal travel insurance does not cover much at all.

So, what insurance to you guys use when travelling? I need to be able to sign up for it from Japan too. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I am not sure if you are a business, but if you are, you should carry liabilty insurance with a rider for your Equipment.
My insurance per year for $300,000 liabilty and $20,000 Equipment rider is $300 per year thru Allstate (actually a subsidery of them)

I am not a business. Does that cover your equipment at home too while not traveling? I'd be happy to pay that just for the peace of mind.

Skippy has bought travelers insurance and used it when she dropped her 70-200 two years ago. I think she had a thread about it. Try a search in her threads or PM her, she's in Australia also.

My homeowners covers it at home, You should be able to get either a seperate liabilty coverage from an insurance agent or a rider to your home or renters insurance
