Thanks so much

I specifically wanted a 'corner' watermark, as seen below; I didn't want a watermark to be in the middle of the photo. The photo should be about the photo and not about the watermark, I think.
The watermark may seem 'small', but I think that if you would crop the photo so that the watermark would be gone, you would still miss a lot of photo.
I wanted it to be 'simple' and 'white'. What I did was I used white text, with a drop shadow. That way, the text still shows properly if that part of the photo would be white already.
Do you have anything specific you are looking for? any ideas already?

I'm looking for style ideas mainly, I'm wanting to end up with two different watermarks - one for clients when I do a shoot to prevent screen captures (something not obtrusive, but still there) and another for my slideshow (these photos have already been purchased and I don't need to be so BIG about my watermark). But I still want it there.
With many of my photos, something like you have would be easily cropped and still have a useable photo.
Eventually I'm also going to have a symbol of some sort - I'm working with a designer on that. But I thought I'd see what others do in the meantime to see if it struck a chord.
(Although it appears that many people don't want to share! !)
Thanks for sharing yours! That does give me a few ideas!

This is at about 60% opacity. I feel the best is somewhere between 50% and 70% depending on the photos and how obvious you want it.
I also have some watermarks that have the website address.
EDIT: My watermark was inspired by a guy (also a SmugMug user I think) named Warren Prasek (http://www.wprasek.com/) btw. I just saw his watermark has evolved somewhat into an even nicer one.

I just set up a Smugmug page and found css, watermarks and NavBars to be a steep learning curve. Followed your link and really like your elegant, but non-intrusive watermark. Will likely head your direction and replace my big, ugly one. Thanks

When starting out, setting up your site is a bit daunting, even with the advantage of already knowing HTML, Javascript, and CSS like I did. Take it one step at a time & just concentrate on getting one thing right before moving on, before you know it you'll be there.

Here are mine - I just went thru the same thing redesigning my watermarks for 2008. Finished them last night.....hoping I decide not to change them again
This watermark is for all photos listed in my galleries - I'm still torn if I want to make this one just a bit bigger or leave it alone:
...and this one for posting samples in forums for critiques, etc as well as will use this one on slide show images on my webpage:

Is this working (?) as a watermark
Canon AE1 - it was my first "real camera"
Canon 20D - no more film!
A print gallery watermark
It is ugly and bright...but it gets the point across and I have been emailed and asked if that came with the photos:D and of course I said no but there would be a GOLD signature on the print and that will serve as a copyright to most printers....I took one of my own photos to Wally world and they started to refuse to print it until one of the girls recognized me.....then I had to tell them it was a test.......
