Both good shots with lovely light -
#2 works best from the composition POV. I think to stand any chance of a good comp with #1 you should have started further out, although it would have been good without the bug there (the grass looks interesting). For both shots try to give the bug some headroom in the direction it's facing.

    Thanks Brian for your comment.
As for Pic#1, the top view of LP, there are some headroom/space towards to left and top but had been cropped away as it is quite distracting. I have taken note though to watch out in future.

totally agree with brian and maybe it's just me - but you seem to have some dust bunnies on the pic as well which (for me anyway) is distracting me away from your bugs.

Is the bug in number on some sort of prickly grass - the spikes stand out beautifully

Not sure what typpe of grass/leaf but it has spikes/hairs at the edge.

I'm equally impressed with the grass Stephen nod.gif
Those fine fibres magnified like that look so prickley.

Those dust bunnies are a pain in the butt at the best of times,
it's annoying how easily they reappear isn't it.

Folks have already given you some great advice from what I have read in the replies to so far.

    Nice work Stephen thumb.gif .... Skippy :D

Thanks Skippy for your valuable comments.
Yes, dunno how these "d" bunnies got into my sensorsheadscratch.gif . Sure wish that my 30D comes with anti-dust function.
