always the male --never the female

The mandarin ducks here in the L. A. area are shot a lot .This is for a good reason they are remarkably colorful :huh .But I made up my mind to do a model shoot and give the lady a chance --I had no trouble because all my shooting friends [all male ] were chasing the male :scratch I worry about them from time to time :D ---so what you think :dunno

    I thought that was considered normal behavior in your neck of the woods.rolleyes1.gif

    Well exposed, sharp and with great color. A keeper fo sure imo.

    Gear and exif would be nice :)

    Sweet shot. The female is often a very colourful and detailed bird in her own right. Take a close look at the feather pattern on a female wood duck, or for that matter, the mallard.

    that was shot with the d300 that went back to nikon the next day for it's second visit 500mm headscratch.gif f8 500iso shade but no flash -one day I will learn to use a flash that will not affect the animal I am shooting then I will use one . Thanks for the nice comment thumb.gif
