Currently I have DPP version 2.1 installed from my Digital Rebel software disk.
Now that I have the 30D, I would like to update DPP to version 3.2
I will be still using the rebel and 30D cameras.
Is there a problem with updating the software to 3.2?
I went to the Canon website , I cant find any info about this.
Also, do I have to uninstall the original DPP before the installing the new version of DPP?
Thankyou

Pamela

I believe that DPP is backward compatible with anything producing a CRW or CR2 file (but I've been known to be wrong before).

As of uninstalling before upgrade - NO. The upgrade looks for any one of a number of installed applications. If it doesn't find one of them, the upgrade won't work (or at least that's what they want you to believe - never tested it). But, if you have DPP installed, the upgrade will over-write it and you'll be good to go.

The same applies to most/all the other applications on the disk that comes with the cameras.

    Pamela,

If you open this Canon Newsletter (http://www.usa.canon.com/app/emails/eosfeb08/index.html?WT.mc_id=EM0802EO01010), right in the middle of the page it takes you to the update to DPP 3.2. You just have to put in your operating system and it will list the update for you. As Scoot mentioned, you have to have it installed for the upgrade to work
