Monopods - heavy (aluminium) or light (plastic)

As I seem to have messed up setting up a poll in this thread please tell me if you use a heavy aluminum monopod or a light plastic one and why (to help me buy one myself) Thanks. Delta

You can get a decent off market brand Carbon Fiber one for a decent price and you get the strength of the metal and the lightness of the plastic...

I use a heavy duty aluminum model from manfrotto. Its also got legs although I have never used the legs.

I use the Gitzo Report Monopod. It replaced a cheap aluminum one that I used to make sure I would like using a monopod. The stability between the two is amazing. The cheapy was a lot lighter (probably around 10oz compared to around 20oz) but I will trade the difference anyday. The ALR (Anti-Rotation Leg) makes setting up MUCH quicker.

Neither. I currently use a light aluminum no-name monopod. Why, because I inherited it from my grandfather & it works fine for me so far. Eventually I'll upgrade to a nicer, modern, bling one but for now it's an expense I can put off as the old boring one does it's job.
