I think B&W is a good idea. The color doesn't really add anything. May need to stretch the tonal range a bit to make it more interesting.

Actually I don't mind those tones either
I'm sure you could enhance it if you really wanted to,
or change it to a B&W and hit it with some contrast.
One thing I would fix is that little blown out white spot on the bottom right
corner of the image.

Blown out corner is good catch (it was snow in the background . . . yikes)
Muted colors is what made me want to leave it also.
