Hey Guys,

What is the recommended file size for an individual photo that one should upload to SmugMug for viewing purposes?

What is the max size for the purpose of a sale?

This is for a PRO account.

Thx,
Tom

    Hey Andy,

Thanks for the info. I checked that page and further landed on a page that indicates specific pixel sizes for the size photo desired. I am a bit confused, however. Is it find to upload Jpegs or do I need to convert to sRGB prio to doing so? Sorry if this sounds so basic - but, I'm a photographer, not a techie. Also, what is it that determines the size a given file will be? Is it whether one shoots RAW, Jpeg, etc? Thanks man....Tom:D

Tom, I got your PM as well. Sorry for the late reply to your posting this morning. I just got off the airplane, redeye flight from the west coast back to NY. If you want immediate answers, email our help desk, open 365 days a year :) The forum here, is handled by us and the community, but the pace is a bit slower, okay?

Upload JPGs only. sRGB color space. Upload your largest file possible, you'll get the best quality. The res chart is our minimums but more will yield a better print.

If you have questions about RAW and JPG, a great place to discuss this, with your peer pros, and many industry experts, is our Finishing School on Digital Grin. Here's the direct link to the Finishing School: http://www.dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10

    Hope this helps!
