Hi Guys,

I have been reading the books by Dan Margulis lately (Professional Photoshop/Photoshop LAB Color) and have been immensely enjoying them. I love the fact they get you to think and look at the broader picture rather than follow recipes. I love they are complex too - when they are truly understood, the gains are phenomenal.

I'm wondering if you guys can recommend books that are similar to Dan's. The book stores are inundated with recipe books, unfortunately. :(

Thanks.

Sadly, very little else, in my experience. Lots of books, little content. Either a lot of "techniques" that don't work in practice, or a "theoretical" approach that doesn't work either.

What both Dan and Katrin offer are intelligent approaches to analyzing photos, figuring out what you want out of them, and getting that (more or less, of course, depending on the photos, your skill, etc.).
