I really like the shot, but for some VERY strange reason, the deer looks like it was shot infront of a painted backdrop. I don't know why that is, lol, but a great shot nonetheless!

Hey Awais, so nice to hear from you my friend.
We(my family) have had a very busy last 18 months including new jobs and a move to London. It's quite hard work after the life we left behind in rural Norfolk - but life moves on.
How are things with you? Good I hope after the recent upheavals - is your old email still in use?

I had to go to Scotland for work and grabbed 2 days in the highlands when it suddenly snowed :D

    regards

I know what you mean Rhuark - it does have a certain oddness about it, I can assure, the shot is real enough even tho' the deer are quite tame in some places where they forage for food left by tourists in viewpoint lay-bys. They can be very nervy and charge people on occasion, so 10 feet was close enough and 18mm did the rest. I've since printed it up at A2 and the 3D effect is even stronger, most everyone comments on it when they see it - maybe it's to do with the incredibly bright snow reflections that lifted the deer's fir?

    cheers

    Grand!
What a magnificent animal! Pretty nifty image, too!! Love it!! I'd love to see it in b&w, just to see if it retains that 3D look.

With shots like that you have to post more often.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
