So, I've been lurking out and about for the past few weeks, hunting down the usual opportunities for vast fields of desert wildflowers and have not been disappointed this year. The rains we recieved this winter have made for some spectacular showings.

Here's a couple of my favorites so far. Thanks for looking

I iloveyou.gif the view from your secret spot there. If it were mine I'd be keeping that information well-guarded too. Great flowers! Is that a pile of rocks on the slope or a huge deformed sheep? :D

I think the wait/lurking was well worth it. thumb.gif

Thanks for the comments everyone. Needless to say, the wildflower season here in California is/was a very strong effort after a couple of bad years due to drought.

To note on the shot #3 (The secret spot), I was already shooting at f16 to obtain sharpness all-around but the problem was, that the foreground flowers were extremely small and I was shooting at 16mm. Needless to say, if I could have gone to f64 or so, I think I'd have been able to capture it properly heh.

    Ok, onto part 2...

clap.gif I can't get enough of these fleurs! In your second set I am really loving the ones where you captured clouds in the sky as well. I don't know which half of the shot to look at (but in a good way)!

Thanks Schmoo, but frankly, you are missing the best part of these wildflowers. Its the scent! The sand verbena (the pink flowers) give off such an incredible scent, its unreal! You can literally smell them from a mile away!
