Invisible Shield Screen Protection

Well, I've gone unprotected for too long.... :D

I recently bought 3 different Invisible Shields. One for my Garmin, one for my Canon G9, and one for my 40D.

This stuff is tough. There's a video on the site showing how strong it is, and how keys can't scratch it.

It has no affect on viewing the screen under the best conditions, i.e. no reflection. You just can't tell it's there. It is NOT a completely glassy surface, so reflections do show up with a bit of an orange peel texture. But it's really not an issue, IMO.

I've had other screen protectors in the past, and I've hated them all. So far, I'm liking this one quite a bit. :thumb

Are you sure you need one?

The Canon DSLRs come with a LCD protector, and it can be easily replaced; essentially it's pried off, and the new one sticks on - no mechanical fastening required. I know on another forum someone had replaced the LCD protector - the cost was under $20 for the part. The existing one is pulled off with a suction cup.

In 1 1/2 years of use (and I don't baby my 30D) I don't have a scratch on it. A "bit" of nose grease perhaps.

For some reason the 'big' lcd screen on the back is fine and scratch-less, I've found. The little one on top, though, scratches fairly easily for me. Are there invisible shields for that one as well?

    Topscreen protector
I haves the same question as above: does anyone offer a topscreen protector for the Nikon D200?
. Nikon provides a plastic protective cover for the rear image screen. thanks.

screen protectors have been around for a very long time....think of when the forst PDA came around and things like the old gameboys....these same types of screen protectors are still around and work quite well....they are a static cling type but do not come off easily at all....cost is around $9 from BestBuy for a pack and you can cut them to size..............they are what I use

They are a different breed from the Invisible Shield. Weak compared to these, which is the same material as coats helicopter blades. Tough stuff.

Yep, the kit comes with a piece for the top. If you go to order one, no matter the actual device it's for, you will see as you order exactly which pieces you are getting.

I'm not sure I need one. I know I need one for my Garmin (which sees much more rugged use), and the 40D was a "what the heck" purchase. My 20D screen survived pretty well, but I figured.....that's right....what the heck.

The decision to protect the screen, for me, is one of making sure it stays in
    good condition so it's useful.

I'm fine with the stick on ones I'm currently using but these look like a great
    alternative.

Well, can't argue with the "what the heck" logic. rolleyes1.gif I can say that both the LCD screens on my heavily used 20D are still fine. In fact the LCD screen on my old Minolta 7000i is still fine all these years later. A second with a t-shirt fixes the nose grease issue. mwink.gif

I'll second the Invisible Shield products. I use them on my Moto Q and they're great. I have used them on several other gadgets as well. VERY though stuff.
