Google messes up your customisations

I recently did a search using google on 'england netball images' and I was pleasantly surprised to see my smugmug listing.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>
However my joy turned to sadness when I discovered that following the link did indeed take me to my gallery and images but my customisations were not kept and the smugmug logo was back at the top of the page with the over-sized footer too.
<o:p> </o:p>
As soon as I went to another page my customisations kicked in but if i sat and browsed that gallery i had to suffer the smugmug branding.
If this is by design to promote smugmug then I want a refund given that I paid extra not to see all that stuff!

At the moment, there is a bug related to certain gallery styles, it's been fixed internally and should be on the site VERY soon, like a day or so.

A third of the way down the page you get this URL;
http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/4517271_taenM/1/265937146_252yg
and the page/image URL when you follow the above;

Did you ever have your gallery there as "hide owner?"
Have you followed all my search tips, here:
http://wiki.smugmug.com/display/SmugMug/Maximize+Search+Engine+Findability
(all of them?)
...
Let us know?
PS It all works, try googling for
westchester senior portrait
and see my link near the top.

I set the gallery up the same as all the others that are 'public' as far as I am aware. The gallery looked/worked like all the others with my customisations when it was setup too.
No I haven't followed all the search tips as I just want somewhere 'simple' to upload my images so people could see them, with minimal smugmug references.
I'm glad its working for you, its not for me!

Are you unwilling to at least register your site with Google? If you don't do that, well, I'm so sorry. Really, how long does it take? 90 seconds? Surely you can afford 90 seconds.

I'd put good money that at some point, you posted a share link as www.... or you had the hide owner turned on, and google saw it as www instead of hdimages. Registering your site should let you fix the problem.
I can see this as something that SM could make nicer. If the gallery, even if accessed via. www.smugmug.com/.... isn't set to "hide owner", perhaps a redirect to <username>.smugmug.com would make things work nicer (and more as expected)?

Similar to my, "If it's drdavid.smugmug.com, redirect to www.wolfsnap.com".. That way changes to hide owner can take effect immediately... Yeah, not really a common issue, but, probably isn't a lot of effort either. Of course, you can probably do the same thing in your own JS section to redirect....... I'm not entirely sure HOW at this point, but, there's probably a way.. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/lol3.gif" border="0" alt="" >
