Hi All, I made my first post in the Wildlife section. Very impressed with all the work I've seen on these forums and Smugmug. Anyway, I hope you don't mind my joining you all :)

Here are a few shots I took during a recent trip to London.

A couple of night time shots looking towards St. Pauls cathedral and of course the London Eye :)

Unfortunately, I didn't get a huge amount of shots due to weather being rubbish most of the time. Hopefully, I'll be able to post a lot more in future travelogues.

Hi, thanks for letting me know. You should be able to view them now. I'd not enabled external links in Smugmug on the particular galleries these images were in.

wow, those are some awsome pics man great work.
if you took picture 3 in raw you should try and make it HDR, i think it would look cool!

I have to admit, there is actually a little bit of HDR tonemapping on that 3rd shot :). The original was taken with a Circular polariser on to bring out as much blue in what was a pale blue sky. I then Under exposed by 2 stops and over exposed by 2 stops before merging them in Dynamic Photo HDR.

I did desaturate it too. A rather moody result I think

    Great pictures!
The third one, the color is so rich that I thought it is a HDR picture at first.
Edit: alright, I did not notice your following post, so it is HDR :D

That third shot is great. Leave it in color, for me the b&w conversion doesn't do much. I'm curious about the original too, since I have not done any HDR work at all.

    Here's the original :)

1/100 @ F6.3, ISO 100 with CPL on to enhance the blues. As you can see, there's not a massive amount of adjustment. :)

I like the series (particularly #2), but a quick question. Did you clone out a parking meter or something in the reflection?

    Thank you :)

I've not cloned anything from the shots (to be honest I'm not very good at that stuff hehe). In which image where you referring to? :o)

the second one... I guess the building interacting with the waves does some funny refracting and reflecting to fool my brain into thinking it was a meter of some sort.headscratch.gif

Great shots... I hope I get to make it to the city of chefs this summer :D

Ahh I think I can see where you mean, within the halo of light? Yeah that's the building within the Eye.

The Thames that night was actually quite choppy. Fortunately the 55 second exposure rectifies that but didn't allow for a clean reflection :)
