IE failing to connect

I'm definitely no fan of IE 7, but of course I have it since MS requires it for their updates and I also like to verify web code works in IE. But I'm noticing this morning, opening IE just gets a churning hourglass-- it won't connect to any web sites.

FF and Seamonkey work just fine. :D

Anyone else ever had this happen? Windows Media player is also freezing when it opens. The ironic thing is I can get to the MS website using FF or Seamonkey, just not IE. :scratch Seems kind of crazy that MS requires you to use their browser to check for updates when it's not exactly the most reliable browser.

Okay, so here's what was up. Apparently in order for IE to work (much less download windows updates), I had to disable spybot, validate my version of windows, set IE as my default browser, then download the new update software-- and then I was able to download the updates! That's almost enough to turn a PC guy into a mac dude... eek7.gif
