Ok, my team has is back in the NCAA tourney (GO WILDCATS...the black and red ones). I'm trying to score tickets to the game, but when I got to law school I had to sell most of my gear for the money. Can anyone lend me a 70-200 2.8L (the sigma ones have never worked for me)? I'd obviously pay you for the shipping, and if necessary we could probably work out a fee too.
I'd really appreciate this...assuming I can find tickets.

Check out www.borrowlenses.com - thier rates are decent and service is super!
You can order/reserve it now and in the notes section you put what date you need it for, and they'll get it shipped out in time. your 1-week doesn't even start until the day after you recieve the lens.
I rented the same lens from these guys over new years break and everything was great and they were very helpful over the phone too.
I just thought about something. This is the first time I'll be going to a basketball game and sit in the stands instead of on the court (those were the days). Is there even any point to taking a camera? Or let's say is there any point to bringing anything more than my 20D and 17-40 & 50 1.4?
The first thing you need to do is to check the venue and see if cameras are allowed.
Basking in the shadows of yesterday's triumphs'.
I was recently told by the events manager of a college arena in an email that lenses under 4" in length were allowed. She neglected to mention that removable lenses were not allowed. :bluduh
I would also consider the additional complexity of this being an NCAA run event.
If it were me, I would go and enjoy the experience and scream my head off sans camera. YMMV
They do have rules. I don't remember them, but I do remember they never enforce them during the tournament, as long as your bag is under a certain size.
I won't be going anyways. :cry Once I priced out tickets and gas etc I realized it be about $400...not worth it. Just my luck - the year after I graduate is the year we have a very real chance of advancing beyond the first round for the first time since 1969.
