I'm sure that if the landscape had allowed you to move around to the left on these shots, you would have done so. Then you would have what you wanted! Those hot pixels from the water beads and deep shadows are the only things keeping these from being really good.

Still...I bet it was a nice experience. :D

I've been trying to find canvasbacks close to me and it is next to impossible. Good job getting a few clicks off. The ones of them in flight are my favorites.

Very close to an outstanding set Dave. thumb.gif I don't know if its the crop or the sharpening that's causing the haloing & hot pixels in some of the shots. #2 could use some NR on the background.

Come on down to Florida and you can shoot all day w/o causing any pain to your hands. :D

yup....there was no way I could get anywhere else with out them jumping. If I'd have gotten my butt up before dawn I could have maybe snuck past them...of course I probably would have fallen into the water.:D

the crop is a little heavy but I don't know if that is the issue. I have the sharpening turned up some on the d300 perhaps that & usm. I'm finding that I need to wear my wal-mart cheater glasses when I do pp. I think that some things that are fairly sharp look fuzzy to me.
I think I still have the originals in file , so I might revisit them ....with glasses on

here is the last pic again , I only usm the eye.

sun was just up but really bright. I'll be the first to admit that using the new d300 has been slow learning for me.

This one works better for me. Excellent work on the eye, it really stands out and draws teh viewer's attention to it.
