I am sorry...I don't have time to search. I am asking for a friend who is at Best Buy.

Are you asking about flash recycle times?

It looks like they stock the Canon S5 IS, which can shoot in burst mode at 1.5 fps up to the card capacity. That sound good?

Thanks! That does sound good, but I should have specified that she wants to buy something that her mother-in-law can just toss in her purse.

I know nothing will come remotely close to a dSLR, but she has never had one, so she'll never know what she is missing!

    You're pretty demanding.

OK, so now we know a little about what she doesn't want. What are the choices amongst what she "does" want. (Otherwise I could guess for days.)

OK, one last comment. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3S has a commendable 2.5 fps shooting rate for 5 shots, nice lens with optical IS and fits a purse. Not very good beyond ISO 400.

Back to my real life ...
