Here are some photos of a young couple, Sam and Emily, I shot this past weekend. They have quite the chemistry.

1) 2340492639_2c17b583d2.jpg?v=1205779173
2)2338725607_de8d5b9fd6.jpg?v=0
3)2341351090_3ae83115ac.jpg?v=0
4)2341291174_758b3ac06d.jpg?v=0
5)2344693860_157fd82268.jpg?v=0
6)2340459273_4141821294.jpg?v=07)2341363066_095af99fd0.jpg?v=0

I noticed though, when I was looking through the photos that Sam was always on the left and Emily was always on the right.

    Isaac,
I like your post processing and the angles you used for composition are great - I always enjoy seeing alternatives to straight on for portraits.

These are pretty nice over all. #3 looks like your DOF was too shallow as he is soft.

I like the light in 6, but you nipped his foot off. I am not crazy about the composition in 8.

Over all, very nice, but maybe could use a tad more contrast.

    Thanks Jeff,

#3 I had focused on Emily and Sam was supposed to be out of focus. But then this might not work for some people.

in #6 I agree with you. The sky was pretty bright at the time and Sam was having a hard time looking up so I wasn't able to get too many shots off.

I go back and forth on the issue of contrast and how much to use. I agree with you that some of these could use a little bit more but then I think for some more would ruin them.

I like #6 the best :) it's rare to see them STANDING while the camera looks down on them...

Is this supposed yo mean that you flipped # 7 for mirror image so he would be on the right for once?

I find number 2 really engaging. Their eyes really penetrate in that one. It has a real classic look to it. Number 4 is also really nice, I like the way the green rocks on the left kind of conform to the outline of his back.

Thank you! It's almost as if they're both really looking at you. I didn't notice that about the rocks until you mentioned it. Good eye!

:) thank you very much. I would have to agree with you. In the past most of my images have been shot in portrait orientation but it just seemed to work with this couple.

ya, I would calibrate your monitor. There's definitely a lot of green in the photos but they don't have a green tint to them (at least on my huey calibrated monitor)

I'll take that as a complement :) I took a look at his work and I'm impressed. You know him personally or just ran across his webpage?
