Shot this one on a wildfowl reserve and quite liked the pose. What do you think

clap.gif Good capture. I like the pose a lot. Is that late afternoon/early morning light? It almost looks like you used a flash but the shadow angle is wrong unless you used off-camera flash.

Good pic thumb.gif, I like the duck's pose. Comp wise I would have framed him further to the left.

Its correct name is the black bellied whistling duck.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Hi Mike Harry and Dave

    Thanks for your comments.

Mike ,it was shot around 11am, no flash used.

Harry, this is a slight crop on the original to get rid of other distracting birds in the frame so no choice but to centre this one. Thanks for the re identification - I got mine from a plate by the duck pond, could it be we are both right

    Regards

I've seen quite a few of these in south Texas but I have not been able to get a picture of one. Congrats!

    Hi Stephen

Thanks for looking. I doubt I would ever see one of these in the wild over here - the shot was sort of captive at a wildfowl and wetlands trust
