Renaissance woman

I have recently met a wonderful 'young-at-heart' woman. My own parents are in the same local assisted living/retirement/nursing home community, and my mom introduced us. Peg, who is actually in her mid 80's, is a retired music professor and talented photographer. She is sharp & knowledgeable enough to be a little intimidating for a country boy like me, except that she is so gentle in her presence. In her retirement she continues to study and play Shakesperean musical instruments, like harpsicord, viola de gama (sp?) and recorder. The way she criss-crosses between art and music reminds me of the concept of 'Rennaisance man' -- except in this case, 'Rennaisance woman'! (pardon the spelling...)

Thanks for the comments! These were all shot with just diffuse window light from three standard windows along one wall, and the shoot was a fairly bright but cloudy day. For #3 I had a silver reflecter bouncing a little extra light on Peg because the harpsicord was so long, she was quite a ways back from the window.

Please fell free to criticize too...

Like them all, especially 1 & 3. The dark wood frames her face nicely in 1. She gets a little lost in the white wall and the lines behind her are a little distracting in 2 for me. Sounds like a very neat lady.

Beautiful! Your description of her personality really comes across in this series. Great work.
