Young Owls

I have been watching this nest for about a month. Yesterday was the first time I got a real good view of the young and one of the parents. Most of these I had to do some severe cropping so the sharpness may not be up to standard. These are the best owl pictures i have taken to date and I hope to get some better light later on.

You have just caused an argument with your Owl!!

Would you be so kind as to settle the argument and say what species they are, I went for Eagle headscratch.gif, the wife won't commit but they are not Eagle owls according to her

    Nice shots though

Looks like a Great Horned Owl and owlets to me.

Great Shots. You are lucky to see such a sight, let alone shoot it.

    Thanks everyone!

It is a great horned owl and those are the offspring. It appears they are using an old osprey nest that was built in a cemetery.
