Testing my new Canon 100mm f/2.8 USM

I just got this today and I couldn't wait to try it out so I took one of my wife's laser etched crystal trinkets with a ballerina shoe in it and I took a couple of shots. The crystal is about 2" square. No post processing other than a quick crop and not a lot of time spent composing but C&C always welcome.

    Great shot, I especially like the way the light hits the shoe and ribbons..made me think it was an underwater shot of air bubbles at first :D

    I really like the shot, if you didnt tell us it was from a laser etching, I would have been stumped for a while on it, Definately a lens I want

    very nice - love this as a b&w as well. Have fun with the lens - the possibilites are endless with this lens.

    Thats a really cool shot, I should try that, I have a picture of the City of Melbourne in a Crystal.

    Thanks Skippy!!....Definitely take a shot of your crystal and post!!! I had to find something to test it with and I remembered that I had bough this for my wife a few years ago. I put it in my studio w/black background and ran a few shots. I'm going to my local nursery today to test it out some more and will post some from that.
